MARISSA Day 10
Maritime security from above - Aerial surveillance of maritime areas and infrastructures
Event date: 07 June 2023

Disruptions in the supply of energy and food, the provision of transport and mobility means, or the availability of communication, emergency and rescue services may cause serious societal and economic damage and affect large segments of the population. Within this, the public debate has identified so-called critical infrastructures as particularly crucial elements for the proper and uninterrupted provision of public and private services.

In the maritime domain such critical infrastructures do range from ports and port facilities, waterways and inland traffic infrastructures all the way out to offshore oil, gas and energy installations. Monitoring, surveillance and protection is therefore a must to ensure the uninterrupted conduct of all legal maritime affairs.

Besides classical means to conduct underwater and surface surveillance missions, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are today becoming attractive options and alternatives to extend and improve existing monitoring capabilities with flexible, low-cost and highly efficient flying platforms.

With our MARISSA day #10 we are set for an in-depth introduction and discussion of existing and future technologies, trends and application. Various specialists from the field will provide us with their views and experiences in one of the fastest growing segments of modern maritime safety and security measures.

As our speakers, we are looking forward to welcome:

  •  Vladimír Foltín, General Aviation Roadmap Project Manager, European Aviation Safety Agency
  • Marco Nisi, Head of Integrated GNSS solutions, SISTEMATICA S.p.A.
  • Michael Bergmann, Managing Director, BM Bergmann Marine GmbH
  • Dr. Hanno Schnaars / Tim Strohbach, Fraunhofer IFAM
  • Harald Rossol, CEO, b.r.m. IT & Aerospace GmbH
  • Dr. Martin Nägele, CEO, OptoPrecision GmbH

MARISSA continues with its successful format of online sessions on Maritime Safety and Security Applications, which - since its start in 2020 - already attracted about 1,300 participants from more than 50 countries.

Stay tuned for programme details!
