MARISSA Day 1
Into the future – Safe, secure & sustainable
Event date: 15 June 2021

MARISSA Day 1 „Into the Future – safe, secure & sustainable “ is the first event in the row of eight planned online workshops bridging the timely gap until the 3rd International MARISSA Symposium in June 2022 in Bremerhaven, Germany. MARISSA Day 1 will focus on the clarification of the scope of MARISSA activities, explain the context and draw principal baselines. It will accommodate a welcome address by Ms Kristina Vogt, the Bremen Senator for Economy, Labour and Europe, a keynote by Norbert Brackmann, German Federal Government Coordinator for the Maritime Industry. Our speakers will share their deep insights into the needs and demands for future maritime safety and security measures from their individual perspective as key stakeholders in the maritime domain:

  • David Loosley Secretary General, The Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO)
  • Francis Zachariae Secretary-General, International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA AISM)
  • Frank Goerke Head of division, German Maritime Federal Police, Department for maritime Security
  • Prof. Dr. Jens-Uwe Schröder-Hinrichs Vice-President, World Maritime University (WMU / IMO)

Finally, MARISSA Day1 will serve as a dialogue platform offering time for free discussions on selected topics. We are looking forward to welcoming you in the virtual MARISSA space on 15 June 2021 (10.00 – 13.00h CEST).

Stay tuned for the final programme and register here.
