Digitalization and automation are in full swing to change marine transport, shipping, and ports forever. Wherever on the global marine highways’, ships, crew, and cargo are today just “a digital stone throw” away from the next digital data centre, providing support, safety, and control for the mariners and their valuable cargo. And although the development of autonomous ships may still be in its infancy, the future of autonomous sea transport has already become clearly visible on the horizon.

Based on the motto „AUTONOMOUS INTO THE FUTURE“, the programme of the upcoming MARISSA Day 3 accommodates keynotes and presentations from:

With MARISSA Day 3 we will provide deeper insights into the development of autonomous marine transport and its consequences and impact on marine safety and security, reliability, and robustness. Our speakers will share their views and visions, but also pending challenges on the fascinating matter. Three questions will here be of particular interest:

• How can autonomous systems help to improve maritime safety & security?
• What are the primary technology drivers to enable reliable autonomous driving?
• How will the introduction of autonomous marine transport impact on the existing global shipping and port community?
